First Close for Seedcamp II

It's an exciting time for Seedcamp! As you might have noticed today, we have just announced €3m first closing of Seedcamp II. The closing is already 50% larger than our whole first fund and will enable us to invest in even more startups.

Mini Seedcamp Mumbai

As you know, Mini Seedcamp Mumbai is coming closer and closer. We will be there on 4th of December (read the blog post here); mentoring 20 exciting startups with the help of a big number of local and international mentors. You can still join us if you want to get away from cold Europe for a couple of days - please get in touch with Philipp for specifics or RSVP here.

Mentor Feedback - Drumroll please!

The third thing we would like to share with you today is a small glimpse of the teams' feedback on mentors from the Seedcamp Week 2010. We've been asked by mentors many times to give feedback and demonstrate what's good mentoring and not so great. We've worked hard to get to a stage where we can do just that. Here are a few of the mentors that received some really positive feedback and at the bottom are comments that show behaviour which can frustrate teams.

Fred Destin

"Possibly the smartest business brain I've encountered. Analysed and contributed to our business model faster than anyone I've met."

"The SC CHAMPION, obviously. Zeroed in on our business issues and focused on helping us to solve them. We loved him."

"Fair to say that we're in love with him."

Jos White

"Gave good, sound advice. He was able to express himself really clearly and succinctly."

"I know this is out of 5, but he was 3 points better than the others, who were all good."

Ivan Farneti

"Was not supposed to be with our group but saw we needed someone and the group he was in was already large."

"Was really engaged with our session and provided solid feedback."

"Straight forward input. Love him."

Paula Marttila

"Paula clearly loves this event and she seemed to have actually put effort into researching us before she arrived."

"We know Paula for some time and she was always helpful and a good mentor."

"That was really impressive. Paula is very energetic."

Rajesh Sawhney

"Phenomenal feedback, discussed unseen potential for our technology."

"One of the best."

As the last thing, we would also like to share with you some not so good comments. Even though the general feedback was great and exceeded our expectations, we would still like to avoid these kinds of comments in the future:

"Not particularly engaged, spent much of the session on the BB."

"Low rating because he didn't get involved."

"Disinterested and busy on phone."

"Quiet."

Once again, we would like to invite and encourage you to participate at our events in the future, helping us build the entrepreneurial environment throughout Europe and beyond. We are glad to have you on board as mentors and can't wait to see you at all the events we have planned for the next year!
